KwaThema – Soccer fanatics in KwaThema were proud to see the Springs Home Sweepers Academy female soccer players having an upper hand in the field during their weekend game.

The team won both games they played on Saturday and Sunday at KwaThema Stadium.

On Saturday they played to a 7-0 against Vaal University of Technology and on Sunday they won 2-0 against North West University from the Vaal.

Team coach, Mkhonza Mkhozana, says he is proud of the team for displaying excellence on the ground.

“They must keep up with the winning streak and improve the first round where we won 11 games and lost four.

“This will help build morale for the girls because we want them to focus and be consistent in winning more games in the future,” he says.

He says the team will be playing in Tshwane at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) on Sunday at 11am.

Soccer fanatic, Joel Hlatswayo, says he is proud to see the girls have improved their skills on the field.

“Their tackling and attack have improved from the previous seasons and they display professionalism on the field.

“We are hoping to see more young girls from the community participating in the sport,” he concludes.
