Dream Team Netball Club is inviting young players to join them.
The team based in KwaThema, Phomolo section, was founded by Vuzimuzi Radinne who is passionate about the sport and removing young girls from the streets.
The team also aims to fight social ills which include rape, teenage pregnancy and substance of abuse by young girls.
Vuzimuzi says he identified that there is a gap for netball in the area and many young women didn’t have anything to do after school and on weekends.
“I decided to call some of the girls from primary schools in the area to form the team because I am a trained netball coach and didn’t want my skills to go to waste.
“One of our biggest challenges is that because we are a new team we don’t have sporting equipment and I am often forced to dig into my own pockets to buy balls and pay for the travelling cost to the games.
“We are calling on local business people and the municipality to come on board to help us make this dream come true and keep the young women off the streets,” he says.
