KwaThema – Xhasanani Business Forum gathered the elderly to entertain them as part of giving back to the community and uniting young people and the elderly on Tuesday.

The forum consists of different businesses like catering, health screening, beadwork, construction and make-up artists.

Mandla Sibeko, the chairperson of the forum, says the community is embedded with many young people who have given themselves to nyaope. The forum hopes to create a safe place where young people can use their talents in order to generate an income.

Jony Mthimunye, a member of the forum, says that he is grateful to be a part of a forum that helps him forget about life’s challenges.

Although the forum has just been recently established, they have hosted three events aimed at contributing towards community development.

“We have hosted a business expo, health screening and today we are giving back to our gogos,” says Sibeko.

Sibeko says when giving back to the elderly, one invites blessings upon them.

“It is important to give back and do things selflessly without expecting any benefits,” says the secretary of the forum, Masello Mawela.

Gogos were entertained with music and participated by rendering musical and poetry items.
