KwaThema – Ntsane Masiloane has started an initiative focused on developing five thousand Grade Nine leaners in Tsakane, Duduza and Daveyton, for Grade 12 in the MATHS 2022 programme.
The aim of the project is to prepare learners for mathematics at an early stage in Grade Nine.
This is to encourage and help them to pursue mathematics in Grade10 and to produce good results in Grade 12.
The project is also aimed at creating social entrepreneurship opportunities to help the unemployed youth in the community.
Excelling learners pay it forward
The identified unemployed group will be enrolled in a two-year training programme, focused on tutoring mathematics and entrepreneurship courses.
Upon successful training, the group will tutor Grades Nine, 10 and 12 learners.
The theoretical component of the training starts on October 2, 2017.
The practical part of the training will begin in January.
Ntsane says he has identified that there is a large number of young people who are unemployed in the community.
