Sir-Cutor releases first album

Mshushisi 'Sir-Cutor' Zondo is ready to launch his new album.

Also known to his supporters as Sir-Cutor, the young artist says he is very proud of his work, published by local company Table Five Entertainment.

“What makes me happy about this album is that we have done this all on our own without any sponsors or funding.

“And after releasing the CD in the first week of September, in a week we had already sold 100 copies.

“This proved to us that you can do anything you put your mind to, without the help of financiers or people who are already famous, all you need is love and determination,” he says.

Zondo adds that when he started with his team on this project, people did not believe that they could do it which is what pushed them to work hard.

Now that it has happened though, it has proven to them that one does not need millions to succeed.

“The township has everything you need to make a great album.

“And all six artists we have featured on it are local stars.

“One of the single’s currently doing great is called Uthando, where I have featured Bongane Nxele, an opera artist.

“On the other hand my favourite track is titled Daugen which speaks about me, and was the first song after leaving my former group, Most Funeka, which I left this year to start my solo career,” he says.

The new album, Case No.1, will officially be launched on November 5, in KwaThema Vergenoeg, then from there the team looks forward to having a road show aimed at promoting the album.

Zondo says though this album was to test if he and his team could cope running a music business, he is still hoping to sell at least 5 000 copies by January.
