KwaThema – Two brothers were shot while sitting in their car on Vuleni Street in Ekuthuleni Settlement on September 27.

One of the brothers was hit in both arms, stomach and thigh, while the other sustained gunshot wounds to the head and thigh.

KwaThema police spokesman Capt Thabo Sibuyi says they were notified of the shooting in the early hours of the evening.

“When the police arrived they found a blue Mazda 323 that had been shot at numerous times.

“Cartridges were found on the ground.”

Sibuyi says the officers spoke to the wife of one of the victims (35).

“She explained that she had heard gunshots while she was in the house but did not see anything,” says Sibuyi.

Both victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment and were in critical condition.

Sibuyi says the motive for the shooting is unclear.

The identity of the shooters is unknown and no arrests have been made.

Anyone with information that can help the police in their investigations can contact the KwaThema detectives on 011 812 4600.
